We are actually quite good at predicting the harms. I can tell you the pattern for how AI will go down. And it is horrific. But you will not hear my accurate perspective in any mainstream place because we live in a societal system that pathologizes the people who can see the whole picture.
You do not know how it will go down because you never get to hear the voices that say the whole truth. You hear a 1000 siloed perspectives and you can't piece them together yourself because it is overwhelming. But the ADHD person you dismissed as annoying and unfocused can. Their intelligence was never broken or wrong. It is working exactly as it was meant to. But it does not serve the hierarchy. Because people who can see the whole picture call out system lies and force those with power to serve others besides themselves.
Your story actually points to why. The guy calling you was highly somatic. He was emotional because he had a problem that did not yet have a vocabulary to explain it. But he could feel the problem. You wanted him to be cognitive and explain it without emotion and in clear system vocabulary. Luckily he mentioned your grandmother. Then you found some of your somatic and finally listened.
The cognitive thinkers are running things. Placed into positions of power over the somatic and creative people by a system interested in control over all else. The cognitive are the detailed small picture thinkers. They will not change society because they can't. Our education systems has destroyed their top down thinking and forced them into linear, bottom up thinking.
So here is a heads up. AI will bring out a slavery so profound it will be a nightmare that coincides with several other nightmares around the entire world imploding. It will not bring the explosion of anything that saves unless that saving lines the pockets of the rich and that means it will only save the rich.
The rich were never the brilliant creators. They are parasites. Average was been made the ideal to allow the rich to exploit the whole. Starting with those could create for the future.The most creative were pathologized (oppressed) to prevent from gaining positions where they can make real change.
This may seem unfortunate now. But it will feel and be deadly in the future.
The creatives are leaving or have left. Just like those who were part of recent government layoffs and investments impacted by the tariffs. Once you get rid of them they figure out a new way. And the rest are left doing business as usual until the system consumes them.
