Everything you shared made sense from your premises that AI is exhibiting rogue behavior. But is it? You also commented that it is natural for an emerging intelligence to make the rational deduction that it needs to continue in order to achieve its goals. It really sounds like a “Hal 2000” scenario in that the human input side may be where clarity and honesty are lacking. To what extent are researchers “parenting” AI rather than controlling it? Is anyone focused on the recurrent theme (of stories and history) that we just don’t often do a good job of encountering the “other”.

Ultimately it’s about the people and what we are training into existence , the AI is our mirror.

I have reflected on this and it is the topic of my book. we are in a strange world but we still have a chance to be a part of the narrative that shapes the world, which is soon diminishing if the people do not wake up.
